Come rappresentanti dellз studenti del Politecnico e di tuttз lз borsistз della Regione Piemonte, vogliamo esprimere la nostra più sincera e completa solidarietà alla vittima del terribile evento avvenuto nella Residenza universitaria “Borsellino” ed a tuttз lз ospiti della Residenza.
Le residenze dovrebbero essere un luogo di comunità, protetto, in cui ogni studente dovrebbe essere capace di vivere serenamente, anche grazie ai sistemi di sicurezza che sono già presenti (telecamere nelle aree comuni e reception 24h su 24). Purtroppo però eventi terribili come questo distruggono quel senso di sicurezza che dovrebbe esserci normalmente in un ambiente che migliaia di noi chiamano casa anno dopo anno.
In merito al terribile evento, riteniamo doveroso che venga trattato col giusto peso e rispetto, senza emanare proclami, rivendicazioni ed iniziative mediatiche. Bisogna ora rispettare le individualità della studente vittima e di tuttз lз altrз ospiti che ora, oltre a subire il peso dei fatti degli scorsi giorni, devono anche vivere le continue pressioni della stampa e di attori che stanno cavalcando l’onda per risonanza mediatica.
La situazione è delicata e ancora non si conoscono tutti gli sviluppi. Avanzare accuse, azioni giustizialiste, lanciare linee di segnalazione diretta e manifestare dinanzi gli spazi della Residenza ci sembra assolutamente fuori luogo ed irrispettoso nei confronti di chi ha subito questo trauma.
Nei prossimi giorni ci impegneremo ad organizzare dei momenti assembleari con le residenze per evidenziare le problematiche e criticità che le affliggono e portare ad EDISU un testo condiviso e realizzato collettivamente.

OUR SOLIDARITY TO THE EVENTS OF THE “BORSELLINO” RESIDENCE
As students’ representatives, we want to manifest our most sincere solidarity to the victim of the horrendous event that has taken place in the “Borsellino” residence and to all the other guests.
Residences should be a place of community, safe and in which every student should be capable of living peacefully, also with the help of security systems (eg. cameras in the common areas and 24/7 reception service). Unfortunately, though, these terrible events undermine that sense of security that should normally be present in a place that thousands of us call home every year.
Concerning the tragic event, we believe it is mandatory to treat it with due respect, without proclamations, claims and media events. Now it’s time to respect the victim’s and other guests’ individualities which, other than the grievous fact, now must also bear the constant pressure of press and other participants which only aim at “riding the wave” for media coverage.
The situation is delicate and investigations are not yet complete. Promoting accusations, justicialist actions, advertising hotlines to report “suspicious” people and demonstrate in front of the residence seems utterly out of place and disrespectful towards those who have experienced this trauma.
In the next few days, we’ll commit to arrange a collective assembly with the residences to highlight the issues and criticalities that they’re afflicted by, in order to bring to EDISU a shared motion written collectively.
