Come collettivo Alter.POLIS esprimiamo il nostro supporto al popolo Iraniano, impegnato ormai da settimane in una protesta contro il proprio governo, repressivo e soffocante. In particolar modo supportiamo gli sforzi delle comunità accademiche del paese, che sono state attaccate da battaglioni di poliziotti armati infiltrati negli atenei.
“WOMEN, LIFE, FREEDOM!” è il grido a denuncia di un regime brutale che anima le proteste per chiedere diritti e libertà, da 6 settimane dopo la morte di Mahsa Amini. Ebrahim Raisi, presidente ultraconservatore, con l’obiettivo di prendere il posto dell’anziana guida suprema, ha deciso di inasprire le leggi della polizia morale che i mullah esercitano dalla rivoluzione islamica del 1979. In Iran, come in Afghanistan le donne sono le prime vittime del potere teocratico.
L’Iran ha una lunga storia di proteste represse nel sangue, che ci mette in guardia su cosa un regime è disposto a fare pur di conservare il potere, ma l’omicidio di Mahsa Amini è stata il detonatore di una frustrazione culturale, sociale e politica. Per spiegare meglio la situazione e per dare una voce allз studenti della comunità Iraniana del Politecnico, faremo una serie di post e di attività in collaborazione con l’Ateneo e con questз studenti, che chiedono a tutta la comunità d’Ateneo di supportare questa protesta per la libertà!
Con una frattura tra gli anziani religiosi alla guida dello stato e i giovani che chiedono solo di vivere liberamente, la protesta dilaga su scala globale e le ragazze si tagliano i capelli davanti alle telecamere in segno di solidarietà con Mahsa. È una protesta simbolica in un paese incatenato. Il popolo iraniano sta dimostrando che, per funzionare, una protesta, come una rivoluzione, ha bisogno di coinvolgere strati diversi della popolazione e di fare rete attraverso un sostegno reciproco che porti la società a farsi carico delle battaglie dellз altrз. Una protesta, come una rivoluzione, ha bisogno di essere femminista.
As Alter.POLIS we want to declare our support to the Iranian People during their struggle against their repressive and bloody government. Most of all we want to support the universities of that country, which every day for weeks now have suffered repression and infiltrations by armed police officers.
“WOMEN, LIFE, FREEDOM!” is the cry that hundreds of people shout in the streets against a brutal regime, the cry that strengthens the protests for rights and freedom, since the murder of Mahsa Amini 6 weeks ago. Ebrahim Raisi, the current ultra-conservative president, in his attempt to replace the old hierarchs, has decided to worsen the “moral policy laws” which is enforced by mullahs since the Islamic revolution of 1979. As in Afghanistan, and Iran women are the first to suffer under a theocratic power.
Iran has a long, bloody history of repression, which show us what a regime is willing to do to stay in power and oppose change. The death of Mahsa Amini was the fuse for the explosion of a cultural, social, and political frustration that decades of authoritarianism caused. To shine a light on the situation and to lend our voice to the Iranian students of Politecnico, we are starting a series of posts and activities with them and with the institutions, hoping that all students will be willing to support these protests for freedom!
With a society fractured between the religious leaders of the State and young people that only ask to live freely, the protest went global, with women everywhere cutting their hair in solidarity with Mahsa. A symbolic act of protest against a chained country, in which the Iranian people are showing the world that a revolution or a protest, has to group different parts of society and fight for a variety of issues. A protest that, like a revolution, has to be feminist.
